    • The impact of support groups on cancer patients
  • Summary
    • In colloboration with Anita O'Donovan and Dr Michael Moriarty (both St Luke's Hospital, Dublin). We are assessing the outcome of a psychoeducational support programme in prostate patients. The design is between groups, and the main psychometric tool used is the HADS

    • Patient understanding of and motivation to participate in tumour banking
  • Summary
    • In collaboration with Drs Patricia Fitzpatrick (UCD) and John Sheehan (the Mater Hospital, Dublin). We are using a modifed survey design to assess patient views odf the accpetability of requests to them to donate their tissue to tumour banks. the studt is being rolled out in 4 Dublin hospitals and will hopefully yiled some much-neeeded insight into both layperson views on medical advances and male patients' views on their levels of trust in medical personnel.
